Professional Outlook
I plan on pursuing my path to a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu and spreading the love and joy I find on the mats with as many people as I can.
Personal Profile
Get To Know Me
I love Jiujitsu and Music and strive to devoting all my time to both of my passions. I am a disciple of the Tabla, Bansuri and Hindustani classical style of vocal singing. I also design and build flutes. After dabbling in boxing and Judo during high school and college, I fell in love with Brazilian Jiujitsu the first time I experienced it. I've been training, competing and teaching the art ever since! I am also a trained Engineer and my rigorous academic background has always been an asset in applying a systems based approach to this wonderful martial art.

Tricks of the Trade
The most tangible of all skills is perseverance. Something that is vital in a long marathon like brazilian Jiujitsu. Discipline and self motivation are the two pillars of this particular trait and developing both takes dedicated effort and daily practice of will.

No-Gi submission grappling

You Could Call Me A Pro
The purest form of grappling is one with no training tools. I'm a big fan of heel hooks, front headlocks and wrestling style head control.
Teaching
A Valuable Skill
In this journey of life, being able to share is one of the greatest gifts. I love teaching and sharing the spark and passion for jiujitsu.
Chess
Above and Beyond
My love of jiujitsu is complemented by my deep love for chess. I started playing as a eleven year old and this ancient RPG has captivated me since! The focus and strategic ideas it brings to life are amongst my most cherished.
Music
Nourish the soul
Finding one's meditation and summoning a peaceful trance. My love for music keeps me grounded and anxiety free. I love playing the bamboo flute, the tabla as percussion and singing ^.^

Educational Experience
What I’ve Learned
Purple Belt, Barum Jiujitsu San Diego
2015-present
I am a 3 stripe purple belt from Barum Jiujitsu. I am a fan of attacking jiujitsu both reactive and proactive attacks utilizing the concepts of tactical as well as positional pressure.
The kimura trap system, the guillotine and it's cousin (d'arce, anacondas) as a positional attack and heel hook systems (both 50-50 and 411 based) from sweep entries are some of my favorite systems to employ along with actively hunting for the back.
M.S, University Of California San Diego
2014-2016
Masters in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. GPA 3.3/4.0
My engineering backgound has cultivated an academic rigor and imbibed in me strongly the virtue of independent thinking. I also like to weigh and look through techniques from a mechanical and psychologically soundness perspective.
B.E, UIET Chandigarh
2009-2013
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering 1st Division.
My undergraduate studies were highlighted by the various design and fabrication projects that I undertook. Creativity is the spark of life and jiujitsu without creation is just a shell without a soul. I always seek to add my own flavor to the various positions I find myself in and have developed some unique systems that I employ from the north south and knee shield positions.
